Crinkle Hub / Splined hub
The BSA Crinkle Hub, sometimes refed to as the "Splined hub", was one of the most popular rear wheel hubs fitted, and with variants on almost all BSA models also of of the most common.
Many of the Crinkle Hubs may look the same but there is differences, and knowing these can help you both identify the one you have and same the headache of trying to fit the wrong one to your bike.

Almost completely interchangeable both Plunger and Swingarm hubs, have a reduced area, to take the push on Dust Covers.67-6128 - Hub Dust cover (Plunger)67-6133 - Hub Dust cover (Swinging Arm)The internals of these hubs do have differences, while most of these hubs have internal threads on both sides, some variants like that fitted to the DBD34 Gold star and RGS models, that only had an internal thread on the Drive side / Splined side. | Easiest to ID due to the external threads, these hubs where fitted on the later, unit construction models, such as the BSA A50, A65, B40 and B44.The external left hand threads, are designed to take fitment of:We have Produced a number of Special Dust covers, to screw onto these external threads, but with the look of the "standard swinging arm" type dust cover as seen on the Goldstar. |
